RM of Lomond’s story
The Rural Municipality of Lomond No. 37 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 11, 1911. It lies in the southeast part of Saskatchewan, south of the city of Weyburn.
Long Creek, Roughbark Creek and Jewell Creek all run through the municipality on their way to the Souris River. The villages of Colgate and Goodwater are surrounded by the RM, and the unincorporated locality of Maxim lies within it too. The RM office is in Goodwater.
Agriculture and petroleum production are the two main industries here today.
